Metropolitan Police have issued a fresh appeal for information on the 35th anniversary of Suzy Lamplugh's disappearance. The 25-year-old estate agent vanished after going to show a house in Fulham, southwest London, on 28 July 1986.
Cold case review
Detectives from the Met's specialist crime command are re-examining the case. They believe the prime suspect is John Cannan, who was convicted of murdering another woman but never charged over Suzy's death. Cannan died in prison in 2021.
New appeal
Police have urged anyone with information, however small, to come forward. They are particularly interested in sightings of a white Ford Fiesta similar to the one Suzy was driving when she disappeared. The car was later found abandoned in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
Suzy's mother, Diana Lamplugh, has previously said she believes her daughter was killed on the day she vanished. The police continue to treat the case as a murder investigation.
