Two men wearing skeleton balaclavas chased and seriously assaulted a 24-year-old man in Bellshill on Saturday, June 20. The victim was taken to hospital following the attack, which occurred shortly before midnight.
Details of the Assault
The victim was approached by the two suspects on Coltness Drive. They then chased him onto Thorndean Avenue, where they beat him. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the man was transported to hospital for treatment. Police have not disclosed his current condition.
Suspect Descriptions
The first suspect is described as white, of slim build, wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, black shorts, and a skeleton balaclava. The second suspect is white, of medium build, wearing a black and grey padded jacket, black jogging trousers with grey patches at the knee, grey trainers, and a skeleton balaclava.
Police Investigation
Detective Constable David Nolan said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace the two men responsible and I would appeal to the local community for any assistance. If you have any information that could assist please contact us. Anyone with dash-cam or personal footage is asked to please review it and get in touch if it holds anything which could be relevant.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Detectives are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Bellshill on Saturday, June 20. Around 11.55pm, the 24-year-old man was on Coltness Drive when he was approached by two men who chased him onto Thorndean Avenue where they seriously assaulted him. He was taken to hospital for treatment.”

Police are urging anyone with information, including dash-cam or personal footage, to come forward. Information can be passed to officers through 101 quoting incident number 0079 of June 21.
