A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a female body in a park in Blaina, Wales. The body was found in the Duffryn Park area at approximately 10pm on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Family Informed of Discovery
Gwent Police have confirmed that the family of 14-year-old Lilly, who had been reported missing, has been informed of the discovery. However, formal identification has yet to take place. The police have not disclosed the cause of death at this stage.
Police Appeal for Information
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Steven Thomas, stated: "We understand that this will cause distress and concern amongst our communities. We have a large police presence in the area at this time as enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death. Our officers are here and available for you to speak to. We encourage anyone with information to please speak with us or you can contact us on the usual channels."
