Masked Gunman Fires at Newtownards House, No Injuries

Police in Northern Ireland have launched an investigation after a masked man fired shots at a house in Newtownards, with one person inside the property at the time. The incident occurred on Tuesday night in the Half Acre Lane area, and fortunately no casualties have been reported.

Details of the Incident

The police received a report at around 11:26 pm of a broken window at a property in Half Acre Lane. Officers attended the address and determined that the damage was caused by a gunshot. It is believed the shot was fired between 11:15 pm and 11:20 pm, just minutes before the report was made.

A police spokesperson stated: “One person was in the house at the time. However, no injuries were reported. It was further reported that a masked man, dressed in black, was seen in the area holding what appeared to be a small handgun, before making off towards Church Street.”

Investigation and Appeal

Inquiries are ongoing, and police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information, including dash-cam, CCTV, or other footage, to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1891 of 16/06/26.
