FBI agents have made a grim discovery at a property in San Diego, unearthing the remains of multiple individuals at a house once occupied by a man linked to a separate homicide.

During a cold case homicide investigation, a multi-agency team including the FBI, California Highway Patrol, and San Diego Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the Southcrest neighbourhood. There, they uncovered human remains belonging to several different people. The property was formerly the home of Dwight William Rhone, 74, who has now been named as a person of interest in connection with this macabre find.
A Suspect with a Lengthy Criminal Past
Rhone is no stranger to law enforcement. He was arrested in December 2023 for the murder of Bernardo Moreno, whose body was discovered in a burned-out vehicle. Court records reveal that Rhone has an extensive criminal history, with at least 33 prior offences to his name.
