Gwent Police have issued a fresh appeal for information on the day Kyle Vaughan would have turned 38. The Newbridge man was 24 when he was last seen on December 30, 2012, after his car was involved in a collision on the A467 between Crosskeys and Risca.
His silver Peugeot 306 was found damaged following a single-vehicle crash. Officers later confirmed that a missing persons inquiry had been escalated to a murder investigation.
Detectives have pursued hundreds of enquiries and made eight arrests in connection with the disappearance. Each person was released without charge.
Family still searching for answers
Kyle's family and friends have never given up hope, according to the senior investigating officer. Detective chief superintendent Andrew Tuck said: "Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kyle’s disappearance remains one of the most extensive enquiries we have undertaken, and we remain determined to find the answers his family deserves."
Tuck added: "Detectives from our major incident team continue to assess every piece of information passed to us by the public, including details relating to Kyle’s movements around the time of his last known sighting."
"We remain in regular contact with Kyle’s family who have never given up hope of finding out what happened to him and that hope continues to drive our enquiries."
"I would urge anyone who has information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact us; even after all this time, one detail could still make a real difference, so please come forward."
