An elderly man and a woman have died following a four-vehicle crash in Oxfordshire earlier this month. The incident occurred on the A44 between Enstone and London Road in Chipping Norton at around 3.20pm on July 9.
The man, aged 85, was driving a black Ford Puma and died at the scene. Thames Valley Police confirmed this week that a woman in her 70s, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, has since died in hospital from her injuries.
The collision involved a grey Audi A3, a grey Jaguar XE, a black Ford Puma, and a grey Seat Leon. The driver of the Audi, a man in his 60s, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby of the serious collision investigation unit said: 'Tragically, a second person has now died following this collision. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this extremely difficult time and we have specially trained officers supporting her family.'
