TUI, Jet2, Ryanair – Urgent Airport Arrival Advice

With summer holidays approaching, airlines have issued guidance on how early passengers should arrive at UK airports. Knowing what time to get there can be tricky, as requirements vary by airline. In the busy summer period, arriving earlier than necessary may help avoid delays.

TUI

According to TUI, passengers should arrive at the airport at least 2.5 hours before departure for short and mid-haul flights. For long-haul flights, the recommendation is 3.5 hours before. Passengers can check their specific itinerary via the 'Manage My Booking' section on the TUI website to confirm the ideal departure terminal and times.

EasyJet

EasyJet suggests arriving at the airport at least two hours before departure. Bag drop-off desks typically open two hours before the flight and close 40 minutes to an hour prior. Boarding starts 40 minutes before departure and closes strictly 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

Ryanair

Ryanair's Help Centre recommends arriving two hours before departure, as bag drop-off and check-in desks open at that time. The boarding gate must be reached at least 30 minutes before departure, with gates closing 20 minutes beforehand. Passengers flying from busier airports like London Stansted or during peak months may want to allow extra time.

Jet2

Jet2 recommends arriving at least two hours before departure, with check-in desks closing 40 minutes before the flight. For hand luggage-only passengers who already have a boarding pass, arrival can be as late as 90 to 120 minutes before departure.
