All services between Stalybridge and Huddersfield have been stopped this morning (August 28) as emergency services respond to an incident. No trains are running in either direction between the two stations, with services being diverted, delayed or cancelled.
Disruption expected until 08:15
A National Rail spokesperson said: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Stalybridge and Huddersfield, meaning services are unable to run in both directions between these stations."
Where possible, trains will be diverted between Manchester Piccadilly / Manchester Victoria and Mirfield in both directions. However, services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or cancelled at short notice. Disruption is expected until 08:15.

TransPennine Express services are among those affected by the ongoing incident. Passengers are being advised to check for updates as the situation develops.
