Train Hero Samir Zitouni Discharged From Hospital

Samir Zitouni, the train crew member seriously injured while protecting passengers during a mass stabbing on a train in Cambridgeshire, has been discharged from hospital, police have confirmed. The 48-year-old, known as Sam, was working on a London North Eastern Railway (LNER) service from Doncaster to London when the attack occurred on 1 November.

British Transport Police said Zitouni had been in a critical condition with multiple injuries but has now been able to continue his recovery at home. His family expressed gratitude for public support but requested privacy as he faces a significant recovery ahead.

Zitouni, a customer experience host with over 20 years at LNER, is credited with helping to save multiple lives during the incident in Huntingdon. He was among 11 patients treated in hospital, including Scunthorpe United footballer Jonathan Gjoshe, 22, and Stephen Crean, 61, who sustained stab injuries.
