Train disruption hits Wales as bus replacements confirmed

Engineering works have closed all lines on two parts of the Welsh rail network on Sunday, with Transport for Wales (TfW) confirming bus replacements for affected passengers.

Bus Replacements Between Swansea and Carmarthen

All lines are closed between Swansea and Carmarthen. Before 10.30pm, buses will replace trains between the two stations.

Cardiff Central to Penarth and Barry Island

All lines are also closed between Cardiff Central and Penarth / Cadoxton. All day on Sunday, buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Penarth / Barry Island. There will be one bus per hour between Cardiff Central and Penarth, and two buses per hour between Cardiff Central and Barry Island.

TfW advises passengers travelling on a rail replacement service to use its rail replacement services page for accessibility and bicycle information. Pick-up and drop-off locations can be found by checking station signage or by searching for a station on the find a station page.

The operator warns that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual and advises allowing extra time for journeys.
