Subaru has revealed three of seven planned all-electric vehicles, with the first—a compact SUV named the Subaru Uncharted—set to arrive in early 2026. The Japanese automaker is positioning the new models as credible alternatives to Land Rover, targeting customers who find the British brand too expensive or flashy.
The Uncharted will compete with the Kia EV3 and Skoda Elroq, offering a maximum claimed range of 363 miles. It will be available in front-wheel drive with a 57.7kWh battery (276-mile range) or a long-range 77kWh version (363 miles). A top-tier all-wheel drive variant with the same 77kWh battery delivers 292 miles, 210mm ground clearance, and a 0-62mph time of five seconds.
A revised Subaru Solterra will arrive around the same time, with a larger 73.1kWh battery providing a 310-mile range and increased power to 340bhp, achieving 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds. Towing capacity has doubled to 1,500kg. The Solterra’s exterior has been differentiated from its cousin, the Toyota bZ4X.
In summer 2026, the Subaru E-Outback will join the line-up as an estate version of the Solterra. It features a 74.7kWh battery, 375bhp, a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds, and a range over 279 miles. All three models use the e-Subaru Global Platform with re-engineered four-wheel drive systems for EVs.
Pricing has not been announced, but the Uncharted is expected to start in the mid-£30,000s, with the Solterra likely above its current £52,505 price, and the E-Outback from around £55,000. Subaru UK managing director Lorraine Bishton stated the brand aims to attract customers seeking all-wheel drive capability who find Land Rover too expensive or flashy.
