Stockport Areas Face 'No Water' in Emergency Incident

Areas in Stockport faced having no water in an 'emergency' incident hitting the borough on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Water pressure in areas like Romiley was described as 'like a drizzle'.

United Utilities Response and Affected Areas

A text message from United Utilities sent to affected residents within the SK6 postcode read: 'We are working to repair an issue at one of our pumping stations within the SK6 postcode area. While we work to resolve the issue, some customers may experience interruptions to their water supply or low pressure. Our water tankers are in the area to help restore supplies. We are sorry for the inconvenience and will have things back to normal as quickly as we can.'

Posts on social media indicated Waterloo Road in Romiley, and Pennine Road in Woodley were among those experiencing difficulties. United Utilities said households either suffered with no water, poor pressure or discoloured water.
