Ryanair Updates 2026 Banned Items List: What You Cannot Pack

Passengers flying with Ryanair in 2026 are being reminded to check the airline's updated prohibited items list. Attempting to bring banned items on board could result in being denied boarding, with serious consequences including potential police involvement.

The list includes firearms, stunning devices, explosives, and incendiaries—any device capable of discharging a projectile or causing serious injury. Ryanair also bans items deemed 'dangerous or unsafe' by staff, as well as items that are fragile, perishable, or of unsuitable weight or size.

Specifically prohibited in both cabin and checked luggage are hunting trophies, including skins, heads, tusks, and any remains of fish, birds, or animals killed for sport. The airline states these measures aim to combat the trophy-hunting trade.

Passengers caught with banned items may be given the option to dispose of them at airport security bins or arrange a postal return. However, illegal items could lead to penalties, legal action, or detention. Some sharp objects, tools, and blunt instruments remain allowed in checked luggage only.
