Two double-decker buses collided in Plymouth yesterday, leaving several people injured including a toddler. Emergency services rushed to Exeter Street at around 12:50pm following reports of the crash.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that several people suffered minor injuries. A witness at the scene claimed eight people were injured, including a toddler and elderly individuals. Fire crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue also attended, reporting that ten adults were on board the buses but no one was trapped.
Images from the scene suggest the collision involved a Stagecoach double-decker bus and a red Go-Ahead bus. The Go-Ahead bus was in service at the time, and a spokesperson confirmed that all passengers and the driver were assessed before leaving the scene. The company said it is working with authorities on investigations.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue described the damage to the buses as minor. They assisted ambulance crews in triaging and checking passengers before making the scene safe. Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
