Jeremy Clarkson has finally revealed the identity of the last Stig on Top Gear, ending years of speculation. Speaking at a Q&A event at Diddly Squat Farm, the former Top Gear host confirmed that British GT racer Phil Keen was the man behind the white helmet in the show's final years.
Clarkson explained that the first Stig was Perry McCarthy, followed by Ben Collins, and finally Phil Keen. He stated: 'The original Stig was Perry McCarthy, followed by Ben Collins. Followed by Phil Keen.' He added that there is no current Stig as Top Gear is no longer in production.
Phil Keen, 40, is a highly accomplished motorsport driver with 24 wins in the British GT championship, a series record. He has also competed in historic racing events such as the Goodwood Revival, driving classic cars including a Lotus 30 and Jaguar E-Type.
Rumours about Keen's role had circulated for years, particularly after Matt Le Blanc and former presenter Rory Reid followed him on social media shortly after the show's reboot. Clarkson's confirmation puts an end to the mystery that had persisted since the show ended in 2022.
