Motorcyclist, 28, dies in Wigan crash with bus

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a bus in Wigan. The incident occurred on Wigan Road, at the junction of Alexandra Road, in Ashton-in-Makerfield, at 11.54pm on August 6.

Crash details

Greater Manchester Police said a bus collided with a motorbike at the scene. The rider, a 28-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

The bus driver remained at the scene and is supporting the investigation.

Appeal for witnesses

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have saw the moments leading up to this incident, or anyone who has mobile phone or dash cam footage, to come forward and assist our investigation."
