In a heart-stopping incident that has left road safety experts horrified, CCTV footage has captured the moment a mobility scooter driver casually navigated against the flow of traffic on one of London's busiest A-roads.
The shocking video shows the individual proceeding along the carriageway in Westminster during peak evening hours, with vehicles including double-decker buses and cars forced to swerve to avoid a collision. The reckless journey occurred along a clearly marked one-way system, putting both the scooter driver and other road users in immediate danger.
A Recipe for Disaster
Transport officials have expressed grave concern over the incident, which occurred as commuter traffic was at its heaviest. "This is exactly the type of behaviour that leads to serious accidents," stated a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
