A driver escaped with minor injuries after his Audi A5 was crushed under an 18-tonne lorry on the M6 in the West Midlands. Police described the incident as a 'miracle'.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Tuesday between junctions 8 and 9 near Walsall. The car reportedly collided with the back of a stationary HGV.
Images released by the Central Motorway Police Group show the £40,000 Audi wedged under the lorry, with the front and roof severely damaged. The motorway was closed in both directions for two hours.
A CMPG spokesperson said: 'Quite miraculously, the driver of this Audi has walked away with only minor injuries after a collision with a stationary HGV.' They added that the incident highlights why officers deal with careless driving.
The crash came hours after another lorry crashed into a car and overturned on the M6 near junction 10, causing travel disruption.
