Metrolink trams have been stopped on part of the network in Tameside following an incident. No services are running between Ashton-under-Lyne and the Etihad Campus this afternoon (August 7).
Nine Stops Affected
The suspension means nine tram stops are currently out of service, with east Manchester trams from Piccadilly terminating at Etihad Campus. The incident is understood to involve a crash in the Droylsden area, though further details have not yet been confirmed.
Ticket Acceptance on Buses
A post on the Transport for Greater Manchester website stated: "Due to a road traffic collision, there is currently no service between Ashton and Etihad Campus. There is ticket acceptance in place on the 7, 53, 171, 172, 216, 219, 220, 221, 230 and 231 bus services."
Passengers are advised to show their Metrolink ticket or pass to the bus driver when boarding. The post also noted that several destinations on the line can be easily reached by walking.
