Passengers on the Manchester Airport Metrolink line are facing disruption tonight after a broken down tram caused delays between two services.
No trams were able to call between Wythenshawe Town Centre and Manchester Airport. This also affects Shadowmoss, Peel Hall and Robinswood Road stops. Passengers will continue to face delays.
Broken down tram at Peel Hall
Traffic service Inrix reported that the disruption was due to a broken down tram at Peel Hall. They said: "No service on Manchester Metrolink between Wythenshawe Town Centre and Manchester Airport due to broken down tram at Peel Hall".
Passengers are being advised to use Bee Network buses as an alternative, with Metrolink tickets being accepted on several services. It is not yet known when services will be fully restored.
Bee Network advice
A Bee Network spokesperson wrote on X: "Due to a tram fault, there is currently no tram service between Wythenshawe Town Centre and Manchester Airport."
Tram tickets and passes are being accepted onboard the following bus services: 23, 25, 41, 43, 85, 101, 103, 248, 249 & 368.
On the Bee Network travel updates page, the service added: "To continue your journey by bus, please visit our journey planner. Please select ‘options’ and check only the bus icon is highlighted. This feature is also available on the Bee Network app where you can also find bus tracking information."
In addition to public transport, there are several destinations on this line that can be easily reached by walking.
