Commuters travelling to Bury are facing disruption after Metrolink suspended tram services on the line. An object has fallen on the overhead line in Radcliffe, bringing services between Bury and Whitefield to a halt.

Service suspended between Bury and Whitefield

Metrolink confirmed that no trams will call between Bury and Whitefield as a result of the incident on Monday afternoon (October 5). The disruption is affecting the Bury Line, with passengers advised to seek alternative transport.

Ticket acceptance on buses

Metrolink has put ticket acceptance in place on bus services running in the area. Passengers can use their tram tickets on the following bus routes: 17, 41, 52, 53, 90, 95, 97, 98, 99, 112, 117, 118, 119, 135, 156, 163, 512, 513 and 524.

Metrolink said: "Due to an object on the overhead line, there is no tram service between Bury and Whitefield. There is ticket acceptance in place on the following bus services: 17, 41, 52, 53, 90, 95, 97, 98, 99, 112, 117, 118, 119, 135, 156, 163, 512, 513 & 524."
