Metro services have been suspended in North Tyneside and Sunderland on Monday following issues with lines. The disruption affects two separate stretches of the network, with ticket acceptance arrangements in place on local bus services.
Suspension between Park Lane and South Hylton
Services are suspended between Park Lane and South Hylton in Sunderland in either direction due to an overhead line issue. The suspension will remain in place throughout the service on Monday.
Ticket acceptance is available on Stagecoach services 8, 10, 11, 16 and 20. A replacement bus service is also in operation in the affected area.
Suspension between Wallsend and Monkseaton
Services are also suspended between Wallsend and Monkseaton in either direction due to a signalling issue.
Ticket acceptance is available on the following buses: Arriva services 57/57a, 306 and 308; Go North East services 301, 307, 309, 317, 353 and 354; and Stagecoach services 12, 22 and 40.
Remaining service and timing
Trains between St James and Wallsend are running every 15 minutes, and every 12 minutes between Monkseaton and South Shields.
The issues were all reported before 7am on Monday.
