Tyne and Wear Metro Suspended Due to Cable Theft
Metro passengers are facing significant disruptions as services are suspended between Monument and South Shields, as well as Monument and South Hylton. The suspension, caused by reported cable theft, has left a large section of the network without trains.
Replacement bus services are now in operation, and Metro tickets are being accepted on various bus routes. Engineers are working to restore service, but the suspension is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
