Merseyrail Southport Line Disrupted Until 9:30pm

Merseyrail services on the Southport line are experiencing major disruption this evening due to signalling problems at Southport. The disruption is expected to last until approximately 9:30pm, according to the rail provider.

Service Suspension and Alternative Transport

Trains cannot run between Hillside and Southport, though services are operating between Hillside and Liverpool in both directions. A rail replacement bus service has been requested to run between Hillside and Southport, but it is not yet in operation.

Ticket acceptance is currently in place on Arriva Bus service 47 and Stagecoach Bus service X2. Passengers holding Merseyrail tickets can use these buses at no extra cost. Full details on bus routes are available on the Merseyrail website.
