Merseyrail services faced cancellations on Friday morning (August 7) after trespassers were reported on the railway between Maghull North Station and Town Green, disrupting the Ormskirk and Hunts Cross line.
Disruption and delays
The rail provider said services to and from Hunts Cross were returning to normal, but some trains were cancelled or delayed. A passenger on an affected service told the ECHO his train was "moving" after a delay of around 50 minutes.
Alternative travel options
Merseyrail tickets were being accepted on Stagecoach buses 20, 82, and 86, and on all Arriva services from Walton to Ormskirk. A rail replacement bus service was also being arranged to transport passengers between Walton and Ormskirk for the next hour.
