Travel advice

Passengers are warned to plan their journey carefully due to major disruption to the tram network until August 2. Repair work means no trams through the city centre, with Altrincham, Eccles and Trafford Park lines suspended, and East Didsbury and Airport lines terminating at Firswood. Bus replacement services are in place. Trams operate between Exchange Square and Rochdale, Bury and Piccadilly, and Piccadilly and Ashton-under-Lyne.

The 100ml liquid limit in hand luggage remains in force despite new CT scanners. Parents should pack children's 'squishy' toys in hold luggage as they may be classified as liquids and confiscated.
