The Premier League has confirmed the televised fixtures for September, with several high-profile matches rescheduled for broadcast coverage. The Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester City has been moved from Saturday to Sunday 13 September at 4:30pm, marking the first such encounter without Pep Guardiola in a decade. Michael Carrick and Enzo Maresca will go head-to-head in the dugout.
Manchester United and City Schedule Changes
Manchester United have had fixtures against Ipswich Town, Everton, and Fulham all shifted to the day after their initial scheduling. The match against Ipswich will now take place on Sunday 30 August at 4:30pm, Everton away on Sunday 6 September at 2pm, and Fulham at home on Sunday 20 September at 4:30pm. Manchester City, meanwhile, will face Crystal Palace on Friday 28 August at 8pm at Selhurst Park, while matches against Coventry and Sunderland remain at 3pm on Saturdays.
Arsenal and Chelsea Affected
Arsenal have three fixtures rescheduled: they will host Aston Villa on Monday 31 August at 8pm, travel to Sunderland on Saturday 12 September at 8pm, and face Chelsea on Sunday 6 September at 4:30pm in an early London derby. Chelsea's matches against Brighton and Brentford are also moved, with Brighton shifted to Sunday 30 August at 2pm and Brentford to Friday 18 September at 8pm, though the latter could move to Saturday 19 September evening depending on Carabao Cup commitments.
Liverpool and Other Clubs
New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola sees three matches adjusted: the home opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 29 August at 12:30pm, a Friday evening trip to Ipswich on 4 September at 8pm, and a Sunday fixture at Bournemouth on 20 September at 2pm. A significant number of Premier League matches this season will deviate from the traditional Saturday slot due to nine clubs competing in Europe in 2026/27. Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool feature in the Champions League; Bournemouth, Sunderland, and Crystal Palace have Europa League places; and Brighton enter the Conference League qualifying rounds. This could result in clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham being scheduled for more Monday and Friday evening fixtures due to their lack of European involvement.
