According to the Inrix traffic monitoring service, the incident occurred on the westbound carriageway at junction 21, where the A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way meets the motorway. Initially, traffic was held in both directions, but the eastbound carriageway has since been reopened.
An Inrix post stated: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M62 Westbound at J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow)... The eastbound carriageway has now been reopened."
