Drivers on the M62 are facing huge queues following a crash on the westbound carriageway between junction 12 (Eccles Interchange) and junction 11 (Birchwood). Traffic was briefly held at a standstill, and three lanes remain closed as of 12:20 on July 16, 2026.

The AA Roadwatch reports severe delays of 16 minutes near the M60 (Eccles Interchange), with average speeds dropping to just 5 mph and long queues building up.

Further queues are reported on the M60, with increasing delays of 15 minutes on the southbound side of the Manchester Outer Ring Road. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes if possible.
