Long queues are building on a stretch of the M60 motorway this morning, with drivers facing delays up to junction 16 for Pendlebury on the clockwise carriageway.
Partial Blockage Causes Delays
According to traffic alert service Inrix, the motorway is 'partially blocked due to an obstruction on the road' from junction 16 to junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield. Motorway cameras show heavy traffic building up to the closure point.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and consider alternative routes where possible. The cause of the obstruction has not yet been confirmed, but traffic officials are working to clear the area.
