Huge queues are building on a stretch of the M60 this morning following an accident. The motorway is closed on the clockwise carriageway between junction 15 for the Swinton Interchange and junction 16 for Clifton. Clean-up and recovery works are underway after the crash.

Motorway cameras show significant queues leading up to the closure. Drivers have been warned of delays. In a post on X at 9:30 am, National Highways stated: "The #M60 is now closed in #GreaterManchester clockwise between J15 #M61 #Bolton & J16 #Clifton for vehicle recovery and clean up works."
