A collision on the M60 motorway has brought traffic to a standstill during Monday morning rush hour. The incident occurred between junction 16 at Pendlebury and junction 17 at Prestwich and Whitefield.
Two lanes closed and queueing traffic
According to the Inrix traffic monitoring service, two of four lanes are closed on the M60 clockwise. Traffic is tailing back to junction 13 at Worsley, and the M61 southbound is also affected. Firefighters have been seen at the scene.
An Inrix update stated: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M60 clockwise from J16 A666 Manchester Road (Pendlebury) to J17 A56 Bury New Road (Prestwich / Whitefield). Lanes one and two (of four) are closed."
