Drivers are facing long delays on a stretch of the M6 southbound this morning after three lanes were closed for emergency repairs, according to traffic alert service Inrix.
Lane Closures Between Junctions 21 and 20
Three lanes have been shut off between junction 21 for Woolston and junction 20 for the Lymm Interchange. The closures are on the southbound carriageway, with emergency repairs currently being carried out.
Queues Building Up
Motorway cameras show long queues building up to the closure, with delays stretching back to junction 21. Traffic is moving slowly through the area, and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
National Highways has confirmed the lane closures, and the situation is being monitored. No estimate has been given for when the lanes will reopen.
