M6 offal spillage near Stafford causes 90-minute delays

A significant offal spillage on the M6 northbound near Stafford has led to severe delays of up to 90 minutes and queues stretching for seven miles.

Lanes closed between Junctions 14 and 15

Lanes 2, 3, and 4 are closed between Junctions 14 and 15, with traffic only able to pass in lane one. National Highways reported that initial attempts to arrange specialist cleanup equipment at the scene were unsuccessful.

Alternative cleanup arrangements made

Alternative arrangements have now been made with neighbouring regional teams to bring the necessary equipment to the site. The incident is causing very heavy congestion for up to seven miles between Junctions 12 and 15 of the M6.
