Drivers on the M6 northbound near Stafford are facing severe delays of up to two hours following a significant offal spillage. Three lanes have been closed between junctions 14 and 15, causing heavy congestion stretching for up to nine miles.

Lane closures and delays

National Highways reported that lanes 2, 3, and 4 of four are closed on the M6 northbound between J14 and J15 due to the spillage. Specialist cleaning crews have been requested. Traffic can still pass the scene in lane 1.

The incident is causing severe delays of up to 120 minutes between J12 and J15, with very heavy congestion for up to nine miles. Motorists are advised to allow extra journey time, re-route, or delay their travel if possible.
