National Highways has confirmed a series of overnight closures on motorways in and around Greater Manchester from Friday 16 October to Sunday 18 October. Sections of the M56, M61 and A34 are also set to be shut to traffic.
The closures will affect the M60, M6 and M67, with drivers advised to plan ahead for disruption across the weekend.
Friday 16 October closures
On Friday, the M56 Westbound will see a link road closure to the M53 Northbound from 20:00 to 06:00, plus entry slip road closures at Jct 7, Jct 3a and an exit slip road closure at Jct 14. The M6 Southbound will have entry slip road closures at Jct 27 and Jct 18, and an exit slip road closure at Jct 18.
The M60 will see exit slip road closures at Jct 3 in both directions, an entry slip road closure at Jct 21, and link road closures to the M602 Eastbound and M62 Westbound. The M61 Northbound will have an entry slip road closure at Jct 4.
On the M66 Southbound, there will be a link closure to the M62 Eastbound, a carriageway closure between Jct 3 and 4, plus entry and exit slip road closures. The M67 Eastbound will close between Jct 3 and 4, with an entry slip road closure at Jct 3, while the M67 Westbound will close between Jct 4 and 3, with an exit slip road closure at Jct 3.
Saturday 17 October closures
On Saturday, the M6 Northbound will close between Jct 25 and 26, with an exit slip road closure at Jct 26. The M6 Southbound will close to the M61 at Jct 9.
The M60 Anti-clockwise will have an entry slip road closure at Jct 25, while the M60 Clockwise will close between Jct 24 and 26, with exit slip road closures at Jct 26 and Jct 25, and an entry slip road closure at Jct 24.
The M61 will have carriageway closures at Jct 3 in both directions, a link road closure to the M65 Eastbound, and an exit slip road closure at Jct 9.
Sunday 18 October closures
On Sunday, the M6 Southbound will see link road closures to the M62 Eastbound and Westbound, a carriageway closure between Jct 22 and 21a, an entry slip road closure at Jct 22, and a closure to the M61 at Jct 9.
The M60 Anti-clockwise will have an exit slip road closure at Jct 5. The M61 Northbound will close between Jct 6 and 8, with exit slip road closures at Jct 8 and Rivington Services, and an entry slip road closure at Jct 6. The M61 Southbound will have a link road closure to the M65 Eastbound and an exit slip road closure at Jct 9.
