A serious collision involving two lorries has closed a section of the M6 in Staffordshire, causing significant delays and congestion. The motorway is shut southbound between junction 15 (Hanchurch Interchange) and junction 14 (Creswell Interchange).
Emergency services, including Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, are at the scene, assisted by National Highways traffic officers. Three of the four southbound lanes remain closed for vehicle recovery.
Drivers are facing delays of up to one hour and 30 minutes, with congestion stretching six miles. National Highways initially estimated clearance between 12:45am and 1am on Wednesday, but later revised this to between 11pm and 11:15pm, warning that timings may change.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
