M58 Closed After Bus Fire and Spillage

Emergency services have closed part of the M58 motorway this afternoon following a bus fire and spillage. The eastbound carriageway between junctions one and three is shut as crews work at the scene.

Incident Details

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported the incident shortly before 3pm today, June 16. There is currently around a mile of congestion on approach to the closure, with delays of approximately 15 minutes.

National Highways posted: "The M58 has closed eastbound between J1 Maghull and J3 Ormskirk due to a bus fire and an extensive spillage. Emergency services and National Highways service providers are working at scene. Delays of 15 minutes and approx. 1 mile of congestion on approach. More to follow."
