Motorists on the M25 near Heathrow Airport are facing severe delays after debris fell onto a live lane of the motorway. National Highways reported that traffic was temporarily held to allow authorities to clear the debris, which had fallen onto the anticlockwise carriageway between junctions 16 and 15.
Traffic released but delays persist
National Highways confirmed that traffic has been released since the incident, but drivers are still experiencing significant disruption. The agency warned of delays of 60 minutes on approach, with congestion stretching for six miles.

In a post on X, National Highways stated: "M25 anticlockwise between J16 (Slough) & J15 @HeathrowAirport. Traffic was held temporarily to clear up some debris which had fallen into live lane. Traffic has been released since. Delays: 60 mins on approach, 6 miles of congestion."
The incident occurred on the UK's busiest motorway, causing widespread disruption for drivers in the area. Authorities continue to manage the aftermath as traffic gradually recovers.
