Drivers on the M20 in Kent are facing rush hour traffic chaos following two separate crashes this morning. National Highways reported delays of 60 minutes westbound between junction 5 and junction 4 near Maidstone.
Lanes closed and standstill traffic
Motorway cameras show traffic at a virtual standstill. Lanes three and four of four are currently closed, with National Highways Traffic Officers assisting on scene. Drivers have been warned to "allow extra time if you're travelling in the area".
Serious collision near Ashford
Separately, the M20 has been closed eastbound between junction 8 and junction 9 near Ashford following a "serious collision". Kent Police have rushed to the scene, with delays of 10 minutes approaching the incident.
