The Overground's Mildmay line is partially suspended due to a signal failure at Kentish Town West, with disruption expected into the evening. Trains are not running between Gospel Oak and Stratford, and National Rail estimates the issue will continue until 7pm. Severe delays are affecting the rest of the line.
Jubilee Line and Other Delays
The Jubilee line is still suffering severe delays due to a points failure at Wembley Park, affecting the entire line since early morning. Tickets are being accepted on London buses and alternative routes.
The Central line has minor delays between Leytonstone and Epping/Hainault via Newbury Park, and between North Acton and Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip due to train cancellations. The Elizabeth line is facing minor delays between Paddington and Abbey Wood after a person fell ill on a train at Paddington. The Metropolitan line has minor delays between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate while TfL fixes a track fault at Willesden Green, and also between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge due to train cancellations.
Station Closures and Hot Weather Warning
Charing Cross and Waterloo East remain shut as Southeastern carries out a £20 million upgrade, with trains diverted to London Victoria, Cannon Street, Blackfriars, and London Bridge for 22 days.
Train passengers are being warned of potential delays due to hot weather. National Rail stated: “The forecast weather may cause trains to be disrupted. Heat can cause overhead lines to expand and sag, line-side fires and also rails to buckle.” Passengers are urged to carry water. The Met Office forecasts highs of 29°C today and 33°C tomorrow.
