Liverpool Lime Street trains cancelled as heat disrupts rail

Some train services have been cancelled this morning (August 13) due to hot weather conditions across the region. Merseyside will see temperatures exceed 30C this week, with parts of the North West under an amber heat alert, which remains in place until Friday.

Services affected

Due to the hot weather conditions, some rail travel is disrupted, including the East Midlands Railway, which has cancelled services between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield. Northern has also reduced its services between Manchester Piccadilly and Alderley Edge, between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn, and between Manchester Oxford Road and Southport.
