Liverpool will face Champions League games immediately before both Merseyside derby fixtures in the 2026/27 Premier League season, potentially giving Everton a boost.
Derby Dates Confirmed
Both the Reds and Everton discovered their schedules for the new season on Friday, with the derby games placed on the weekends of November 28, 2026 and January 30, 2027. Both matches are subject to television schedules, but one certainty is that Liverpool will go into them after playing a Champions League game in the previous midweek.
Champions League Return
The Reds scraped into European football's premier competition for the new season after Arne Slot guided them to a fifth-place Premier League finish. Slot was subsequently sacked and replaced by Andoni Iraola, who will manage in the Champions League for the first time.
Fulham are the first Premier League opponent the Reds will face following one of their eight Champions League group phase games, as the Londoners head to Anfield the weekend of September 12. Next up the following month will be a trip to Brentford after Matchday 2, followed by a home game with Brighton after Matchday 3 and after the Seagulls themselves would have played a Conference League fixture.
The Reds then go to Crystal Palace after Matchday 4, with the Londoners having played a Europa League fixture in that week, before the first derby of the season at Hill Dickinson Stadium at the end of November after Matchday 5. Leeds United are the Anfield opponents after the final Champions League Matchday of 2026, and then Liverpool will face fellow Champions League side Manchester United away and Everton at home in January after Matchdays 7 and 8.
