Liverpool John Lennon Airport has reminded passengers of its 'two-hour rule' for all summer holiday bookings. The airport advises travelers to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to ensure a smooth journey.
Check-In and Baggage Guidance
Passengers who have checked in online but need to drop off bags should proceed to their airline's check-in desk. Those with only cabin baggage and a boarding pass can go directly to departures. The airport's website states: 'We recommend arriving at Liverpool John Lennon Airport two hours prior to your scheduled time of departure.'
Security Screening Tips
To avoid delays, passengers are advised to pack food and powders in hold luggage where possible. If carried in hand luggage, extra time may be needed for inspection. The airport said: 'To avoid delays at security, it is recommended that food and powders be packed in your hold luggage, where possible. If you must carry them in your hand luggage, please allow extra time for security screening as your items may be subject to inspection.'
Travelers should ensure all items are in their bags before reaching security, including belts and pocket contents. Coats, hats, scarves, and heeled shoes or boots should be removed. Liquids remain allowed in hand luggage without a plastic bag, with a maximum of 100ml per container. Large electronic devices can stay in bags.
Additional Advice
Passengers are encouraged to dress appropriately to speed up the security process. Leaving space at the top of bags for items like belts and hats can also help. The airport's website provides further details on security and departures.
