Lee Culleton charged after motorcyclist dies in Romford crash

Lee Culleton, 45, has been charged after motorcyclist Anwar Shinwari died in a collision in Romford, east London.

The crash happened at around 9.20pm on July 19 on the Whalebone Lane section of the A12. Emergency services attended but Mr Shinwari died at the scene. The driver of the car fled on foot.

Charges

Culleton, from Canvey Island, was arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified and fraudulent use of a registration mark. He appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on July 20 and was remanded in custody, with a next appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on August 25.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds to repatriate Mr Shinwari to Afghanistan and support his family with funeral costs.
