Jet2 has released a video detailing the coronavirus rules that holidaymakers will have to follow from next week. The tour operator is restarting flights and holidays on Wednesday, July 15, after the easing of travel restrictions.
The clip shows how passengers will be required to wear face masks throughout their journey and board in small groups onto aircraft that are 'professionally cleaned each day'. Jet2 advises customers to check in online and download their own boarding passes to keep things contact-free.
Hand luggage should be light, and holidaymakers are told to pack enough face masks for the rest of their holiday. If a passenger has symptoms of coronavirus, they will not be allowed to fly. At the airport, face masks must be worn and kept on.
According to the Jet2 website, coverings such as scarves, snoods, balaclavas or any similar items are not acceptable for travel. Perspex screens have been fitted at check-in desks, and one-touch self-service screens are available for luggage check-in.
While boarding in small groups, passengers will scan their own boarding passes and show their passports, quickly removing masks to confirm identity. Jet2 says all planes are fogged with a long-lasting disinfectant spray. A full trolley service will operate onboard, with contactless payment urged.
On landing, masks should be kept on until reaching hotels, and social distancing practised. A Jet2 spokesperson said: 'Things may look and feel a little different, but customers can rest assured that they are in very safe hands.'
