Jet2 has confirmed that passengers with morning flights from Newcastle International Airport can now use a twilight check-in service, allowing them to drop off their bags the evening before. The service is available at 12 UK airports and is designed to provide a smoother travel experience.
How the Twilight Check-In Works
Normally, passengers must arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure and may face queues at check-in desks. Jet2's twilight check-in allows those with flights before midday to check in online and drop their luggage at the airport between 4.30pm and 9pm the previous day. The next morning, they can bypass check-in and head straight to security.
According to Jet2, passengers must check in online no later than 24 hours before their flight, but the airline recommends doing so as soon as online check-in opens, which is 28 days before travel. One person in the party can drop off bags for up to six people, and passengers must bring their boarding passes and passports.
Eligible Airports
The twilight check-in is available seven days a week at the following 12 UK airports: Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow International, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, and Newcastle International. Only passengers with flights departing before midday can use the service.
Jet2 explained: “Check in online. You need to do this no later than 24 hours before your flight, but to make sure you don’t miss out we recommend you check in as soon as online check-in opens: 28 days before you travel. Drop your bags at the airport. One person in your party can drop off up to six people's bags. Simply take your luggage to the airport between 16.30-21:00 the evening before your flight. Don't forget your boarding passes and passports! Sail straight through to security. On the morning of your flight, bypass check-in and head to security. Relax and enjoy your getaway!”
