Jet2, the budget airline known for affordable flights and holiday packages, has announced a move into the VIP charter market with a specially adapted Boeing 737-800NG. The aircraft will seat just 76 passengers instead of the standard 189, offering a 'business class layout' with significantly more legroom and upgraded catering.
Trevor Caplis, head of charter and airline sales at Jet2, said the new product is expected to be popular with sports, music, entertainment and specialist group customers. He added that charter clients can now enjoy the operational and cost-effective benefits of Jet2 alongside a premium charter product.
Every seat will feature a minimum of 43 inches of legroom, superior comfort, and premium catering that can be customised to client requirements. This is the first time Jet2 has introduced such a configuration, responding to demand for privacy, comfort, flexibility and an elevated travel experience.
The new aircraft will be exclusively available to charter clients, not those booking standard holiday flights. Jet2 operates over 20 routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to destinations across Europe, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
