Passengers flying with Ryanair, easyJet, TUI, and Jet2 need to be aware of differing hand luggage and duty-free rules. While most airlines allow a small personal bag for free, allowances for cabin bags and duty-free items vary significantly.
Ryanair includes a small personal bag (40x30x20cm) with all fares, which must fit under the seat. Priority boarding allows an additional 10kg cabin bag (55x40x20cm). Duty-free items can be carried alongside cabin bags, and infants have a 5kg baby bag allowance.
easyJet permits one small bag (45x36x20cm) up to 15kg for free, with an option to pay for a larger cabin bag (56x45x25cm). Duty-free is allowed as an extra item, and passengers must be able to lift their own bags.
TUI offers one free hand luggage piece (55x40x20cm, up to 10kg) plus a small personal bag (40x30x20cm). Duty-free bags are permitted, but liquids must be in a sealed security bag with receipt throughout the journey.
Jet2 allows a small bag (40x30x20cm) and one hand luggage piece (56x45x25cm, up to 10kg) for free. Infants under 2 get an additional 10kg allowance. Duty-free can be carried as the small bag or separately.
